Några tips från South American Explorers på alternativa platser att besöka i Peru om Machu Picchu inte går att ta sig till:
The areas in and around Trujillo and Huanchaco are well known for a rich cultural history, including several sets of ruins to visit. Chan Chan and Huaca de Sol y Luna are two of the most popular destinations.
Arequipa is also in the southern part of Perú and has great weather right now. With great hiking available in and around the Colca and Coltahuasi Canyons, this is a great place to go if you were excited about trekking in the region.
