Brittiska UD - reseråd för dig som är på väg...
Brittiska Utrikesdepartementet har en mängd reseråd på sin sajt för olika sorters resenärer (kvinnliga resenärer, backpackers, unga resenärer, charter...). Britiska UD - 14 heta tips
1. Be aware of approaches from people at airports - even seemingly innocent requests to look after someone’s possessions can lead to problems.
2. DO NOT get involved with Drugs. Penalties are severe and include massive fines and long prison sentences in grim conditions. You can receive the death penalty in some countries. We cannot get you out.

3. Don’t allow yourself to be persuaded or coerced into carrying drugs. Is it worth risking your life or spending 7-20 years in jail for £2,000 (26 000 kr)?
4. NEVER carry packages through Customs for other people. If drugs are found YOU will be held responsible. Do not sit in anyone else's vehicle when going through Customs, or crossing a border; always get out and walk. If driving do not lend your vehicle to anyone else. Always pack your own baggage and never leave it unattended.
5. Carry a doctor's prescription for any medication you may need to avoid unnecessary delays at customs and immigration checks.
6. Respect local customs and dress codes. Think about what you wear and how you fit in. What is acceptable dress in tourist resorts may not be appropriate elsewhere.
7. Stay in touch. E-mail, telephone and write home regularly. Tell friends and family where you are going. If there is a natural disaster or trouble flares up, contact your family and friends to let them know that you are safe and healthy. Do this even if you are not near the area - remember family and friends will not know exactly where you are but they will worry if they think you are in potential danger.
8. Be security conscious. Avoid unlit streets at night. Carry only the minimum amount of cash when sightseeing and leave your valuables in the hostel or guesthouse safe. Never resist violent theft.
9. Watch out for scams. Check your guidebook for warnings on scams and keep your wits about you at all times.
10. Be very cautious about hitchhiking. Try not to hitchhike at night. If you must, always travel in pairs and be aware that drivers may expect payment.
11 Try to be aware of any locally endangered animals and plants within your destination. Be careful when buying wildlife souvenirs so that you don’t unwittingly purchase souvenirs made from endangered plants or animals in which trade may be regulated or banned.

12. Do not work illegally. You can be deported, fined and imprisoned if you do. You may also be prevented from entering the country again in the future.
13. If you do work abroad, make sure you comply with all the relevant employment regulation - you may have to pay tax.
14. Do not overstay your visa. You can extend your visa in most places; if you do not you can be imprisoned or fined.
